Ferrari · Pre-Purchase Inspection
Ferrari 458 — the PPI that walked away
Clean listing, six-figure price, rebuilt salvage underneath.
01The brief
The car & the ask
A 458 Italia at a trader, priced sharp, photos immaculate, 'full service history'. Our client wanted it badly — which is exactly when you inspect hardest.
02The work
What we did
Paint-depth mapping found 400+ micron readings across the entire left side — full repaint over repair.
Lift inspection: chassis-rail deformation and non-factory welds at the left rear — structural accident evidence.
Diagnostic scan showed airbag modules replaced and mileage inconsistencies between modules.
Same-day written report with photos; history traced to a US salvage auction listing.

03The outcome
How it left
Client walked away from a six-figure mistake and bought a verified car three weeks later — which we also inspected. The fee was 0.3% of the price it saved.
